Earlier this year, Montana Grizzly defensive lineman Sloan McPherson pulled off an all-time selfless move. The national "Be The Match" program identified McPherson as a match for a patient in need. McPherson sacrificed the ability to play in the 2024 Grizzly Football season opener against Missouri State to donate marrow the week before kickoff. I chatted with McPherson on The Daily Drive With Ace Sauerwein back in September. Listen to the full conversation below.

Not that he needed the praise, but earlier this week McPherson was honored by Montana U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale in the Capital.

"I rise today to recognize Montana Grizzly Defensive End Sloan McPherson from Glendive, Montana," opened Rosendale. "While Sloan is a fantastic football player, I recognize him today for the life saving efforts off the gridiron... When Sloan is asked about his donation he humbly said 'When there's someone in need and you can help them you have to do it," said Rosendale.
