Get the word out, parades are back in downtown Missoula. It has been a few years since we have been able to have a good old-fashioned parade downtown. With the construction of Beartracks Bridgeand the repairs that delayed the full opening of the bridge, parades have have been canceled for the past few years. There have also been parades that have used alternate routes like the last University of Montana Homecoming Paradewhich used the South Avenue route. As far as alternate parade routes go, that one was pretty fun to watch, much better than being canceled.

Missoula's St. Patrick's Day Parade Is Back

Now that the Beartracks Bridge is back in the discussion for parade routes, we are lucky to have a parade that is going to happen. Missoula's St. Patrick's Day Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 11th at noon and it will be downtown. The parade is put on by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. If you want to be a part of the parade you can register now.

This Year The Parade Will Be Early

St. Patrick’s Day is on Friday, March 17th this year, so the parade will be taking place on the Saturday before. “The Run for the Luck Of It” will also be happening Saturday, March 11th as well.

Hopefully More Missoula Parades Will Take Place Downtown

Missoula doesn’t put on too many parades. The passed few years when they have been canceled, have been missed. Hopefully, if everything with the Beartracks Bridge holds up we can look forward to the next big parades, like the University of Montana Homecoming Parade and the Missoula Downtown Association’s “Parade of Lights” to be held downtown this year too.
