Montana’s Best Chicken Wings Are Hiding in This Missoula Tavern

When we hear about a great place to eat, we add it to our list of places to try. In Montana, that isn’t always easy. Some of the best places to eat can be hours away.  

There are still recommended restaurants we haven’t tried yet. It may be a while before we can get there. It used to be a lot easier for us when our kids were in youth travel sports in Montana. Every weekend in the spring, we would be in a different town looking for a good place to eat.

There is one Montana restaurant that's been known for having some of the best wings in town. Now they are being recognized as having the best wings in the entire state.

The Desperado Sports Tavern in Missoula is recognized as having the best wings in Montana, according to Love Food. They specifically recommend the Sissy Sauce as the best sauce for your wings.

The Desperado, also known as the Despo, prides itself on its “fresh, never frozen” wings. They offer a variety of flavors of sauces like Maui-Wowie, Sissy Teriyaki, Hot BBQ, and more.  

What to Know Before You Visit

If you are a fan of chicken wings and a sports fan, you will probably appreciate The Desperado. If you plan on visiting the Despo, there is one important thing to know: they are a cash-only establishment. They don’t take credit or debit cards. They do have ATMs available.
