
Farmer’s Almanac Releases Montana’s 2025 Spring ‘Last Frost’ Dates
Springtime in Montana brings with it a lot of things. One of them is the huge temperature swings we can experience across the state. It isn't uncommon to see a fifty-degree swing in a day. That is one of the reasons why jackets come in handy this time of year.

The almanac has released it last 'frost dates' for Montana. These are the dates when we are expected to see the last frost of the season before next fall. We are also expecting a warmer than normal spring in Montana.

The almanac uses information from the National Weather Service and decades of data from farmers and gardeners to determine the average date where areas will see the 'last frost'. Here are some of the projected 'last frost' dates for areas of Montana:
- Missoula - May 10
- Great Falls- May 6
- Helena - May 9
- Butte - June 13
- Bozeman - May 26
- Billings - May 4
- Kalispell - May 12
