Missoula Expands Northside Parks to Keep Up With Rapid Growth
Missoula continues to grow, and with it comes not only new housing but also new spaces for the community to gather and play.
The City of Missoula has started construction on one of several park projects planned for the Northside neighborhood. The city approved the plans in 2025, and the project includes changes to two parks and a park annex designed to serve the rapidly growing area.
New Park Planned for North Scott and Rogers
One of the main additions will be a new park located near North Scott Street and Rogers Street, which will replace White Pine Park with a larger space that offers more amenities. The park will include street frontage improvements, internal park trails and trees, sports amenities, and a dog off-leash area. For a full list of plans for the parks, visit the city’s Northside Parks website.

Growth Driving New Park Development
These projects come as the Northside neighborhood continues to see new housing developments, including the Villagio and Ravara projects, which are expected to add more residents to the area.
Community Helped Shape the Park Plans
Community input played a role in shaping the park designs. Missoula Parks and Recreation, along with the city’s Office of Neighborhoods, hosted two public design workshops last September and November at Lowell Elementary School. Residents were able to review and provide feedback on the plans before the designs were finalized.
