As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, it’s time to give thanks and to look ahead to another big holiday. Christmas is coming and with that holiday is a great Missoula tradition. The annual Santa Fly-Over.

It’s official—Santa will once again make his special trip around Missoula.

Ensuring Santa can complete the flight over Missoula isn’t a cheap endeavor. It takes money to make this special event happen, from the upkeep and storage of the equipment to the fuel and pilots that make it possible. This is where the community comes in.

Why the Santa Flyover Needs Community Support

Western Montana Santa Flyover is accepting donations to make sure this holiday tradition continues. They have teamed up with the Missoula Downtown Foundation, which allows all donations to be tax-deductible. For those who would like to donate, you can do so on their website.

They haven’t announced the dates for the projected flyover yet, as they collect donations.

A Missoula Holiday Tradition for Generations

The Missoula Santa Flyover has been a great family tradition over the years. My wife and I always tried to make it fun for our kids. We would make “reindeer food”, using oatmeal and glitter, and spread it on the lawn to help Santa find our house.

It is great to see this tradition continue in Missoula, and please consider donating to keep the tradition going for years to come.
