Montana’s Best Hole-in-the-Wall Burger Isn’t Where You’d Expect

When looking for a good burger in Montana, the good news is you don’t have to look far. When looking for a great burger, it may take a little longer, and you may have to travel a little further, but they can be found.  

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to check off my list of some of the best burgers in the state. As with most of my lists, they keep growing, so now I have one more place I need to try.

Cheapism.com was searching for the “Best Hole-in-the-Wall Burgers” in every state, and for the state of Montana, it isn’t one of the usual suspects. 

Montana’s Longtime Burger Favorites 

The Burger Dive in Billings normally makes most lists and was a World Food Championships Winner in 2016. The Missoula Club in Missoula has been serving its famous burgers for decades inside a bar that’s more than 100 years old. Those are just two examples of the many great burgers in Montana.

According to Cheapism.com’s ranking, the best hole-in-the-wall burger is found at Best Burger in Bozeman at 8194 Huffine Lane. Best Burger is nothing fancy; they mostly serve burgers, fries, and shakes. Sounds right up my alley. There is something special about a burger joint that still uses the old-school menu board with plastic letters. This is one that I will need to add to my list of burgers I have tried across the state. 

Next time I am heading through Bozeman, I will try to stop by Best Burger to see if it really is one of the best.
