As Missoula continues to evolve, there are opportunities for the public to have their voices heard, and I encourage everyone to reach out when they can.

I recently had the opportunity to voice my opinion about a traffic situation that I thought was easy to fix. The city responded to my issue and gave me an explanation of what it would take to fix. It was encouraging for me that the city not only read my issue, but they responded promptly.

How Missoula Residents Can Share Their Input

One change that the city announced is the Hip Strip parking enforcement that will start January 1, 2026.

Another change is the Midtown Project and the public input for the one-acre park that will be a part of the project.

The city is also working on the West Broadway River Corridor Project, and they are looking for public input.

What’s Planned for the West Broadway River Corridor

There are many aspects to this project, but a few of them are planned reconstruction of the boat ramp in Silver Park with an adjacent pedestrian trail to accommodate increased use.  The removal of debris in the main channel and the construction of a class II rapid. Ron’s River Trail and South Riverfront Trail improvements. A recreational wave feature that can be used for riverboard surfing.

This project was defined in 2022, but now is the time to have your opinion be heard by the city. The public feedback portion of the project is now open and will be open until December 14, 2025.

For other projects, Engage Missoula is an important resource to find out not only what the city of Missoula has in the works, but it also gives the community a chance to be vocal in the planning and execution of these projects.
