Big Sky Resort probably didn't see as much skier traffic this year with the lack of snow, but they still seemed to manage decent foot traffic.

Whether the season was below average or not, Big Sky Resort was celebrating the end of the ski season with a wacky, fun event.

Big Sky Pond Skim 2026

Last weekend was Big Sky Resort's Pond Skim 2026 event. The event is a part of Big Sky's Spring Series, Big Sky’s signature music event." It consists of 4 straight Saturdays where Big Sky Resort turns into a music venue with an amphitheater at the base of Lone Peak.

Pond Skim is the marquee event of the Spring Series, and brother, let me tell you it looked like a heap of fun.

Best Costumes from Pond Skim 2026

  • A guy in a full suit (He came within inches of making it across)
  • Speedo guy (Cleared the pond with ease)
  • Canadien Tuxedo guy (He did not make it. He appeared to suffer a bit of whiplash. Fortunately, he was wearing a helmet)
  • Banana suit guy (He did not make it. It's like he... slipped on a peel)
  • Track attire guy (I think the guy in purple was wearing a track athlete's attire? That or a cheerleader's costume)
  • Hot dog man (He made it with a kite attached to him)
  • Superman (It was nice of Clark Kent to show up)
  • A one-eyed monster... thing (It did not make it)
  • Woody from Toy Story (There was a snake in his boot)
