84,000 People Visited the Roxy Theater in Missoula Last Year
The Roxy Theater is one of my favorite places in Missoula. Heck, it might be one of my favorite places anywhere. So when the Roxy released its annual impact report, I had to check it out.
It shows "how the Roxy's grown and changed with our community."
Here is the Roxy by the numbers over the last year.
- 84,412 people attended a Roxy showing, up 6% from last year.
- 42,102 bowls of popcorn were served, up 8% over the year.
- There are 3,091 Roxy members, up 5% from last year.
- 461 unique films were screened last year, up 25%.
- 231 volunteers helped make the Roxy the great place it is.
- 270 community partnered paired up with the Roxy, up 4%
The Roxy also saw some renovations last year. Theater 1 received "a major upgrade with the installation of a new state-of-the-art laser projector and a much needed new screen."

As we speak, The Roxy is in the process of upgrading theaters 2 and 3 thanks to the community's effort during Missoula Gives.
"All that the Roxy Theater is would not be possible without your support. A heartfelt thank-you to our more than 3,000 members, our 84,000 guests, and our 270 community partners. Your patronage and donations make it possible to have a strong and thriving community cinema for all of us to enjoy." - The Roxy Theater in their annual impact report
The theater brought in $1.8 million, but racked up $1.6 million in expenses. Good thing the Roxy is still coming out on top, but I always appreciate that they don't aim to maximize their profits. Instead, they support a fully staffed crew.
