I'm going to lead off by saying, don't own exotic pets.

What's the point? Let the animals be, because I don't see much good coming out of it.

Ok, I'm off my high horse.

The strangest animal you can own in Montana is...

A wallaby, or as StatsPanda spells it, a "Wallably."

Before you decide to make an irrational decision, read up on the rules, please.

According to the Animal Legal & Historical Center, wallabies are a "noncontrolled species" in the state of Montana, which means:

a live, exotic wildlife species, subspecies, or hybrid of that species that may be possessed, sold, purchased or exchanged in the state without a permit, except as provided in this Sub-Chapter or in Montana statutes or federal statutes. A noncontrolled species may not be released into the wild unless authorized in writing by the department.

Some of the other non-controlled species to put in your small apartment are African pygmy hedgehogs, sugar gliders, Cameroon volcano frogs and jungle cats.

There are others, too. Do you agree that wallabies are more exotic/strange than a sugar glider? Or a flipping jungle cat?

That's up for you to decide.

Here's a little PSA for you:

Even though these animals are legal to own, make sure you're a responsible person before going out and purchasing an exotic pet.

Heck, make sure you're responsible before getting a dog or a cat.
