The Missoula Montana Airport reminded us today that MSO will be closed to all travel coming up in September.

When and Why MSO Will Close

MSO will be temporarily closed to all aircraft from 8 AM Sept. 2 to 3 PM Sept. 7, 2025 for a major runway upgrade.

You will NOT be able to travel in or out of MSO for those 5 days as crews repave the runway.

MSO's Facebook page said it will also take the time to upgrade its terminals and parking.

So that's good news.

If you don't plan on flying in September, great, no need to keep reading this. Keep on keeping on.

But if you think you may be flying out of Western Montana, here are some other options you could reach in a day's drive to fly away.
