Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Starting at the end of January, Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming will kick off the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie Season.

Being a lifetime supporter (and consumer) of Girl Scout cookies, I immediately called Briana Rickman, Director of Public Relations and Development for Montana and Wyoming about the start of the new cookie season.

Yum! Time to Think About Girl Scout Cookie Season

“We're really excited for the cookie program this year,” began Rickman. “It begins Friday, January 31, so you'll see girls out and about selling door to door. A lot of girls sell online, so the pre-orders will occur from January 31 through February 16. Customers can expect to see their cookies delivered if they've ordered through the pre-order portal by mid to late March.”

I asked Rickman to identify the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie lineup.

All Your Favorite Girl Scout Cookies will be Available

“We've got Thin Mints, Caramel Delights, Peanut Butter Patties, Trefoils, which is like your shortbread cookie, and then kinds of newer cookies for us such as Lemonades, which is a personal favorite of mine,” she said. “The gluten and allergen-free cookie is Caramel Chocolate Chip. It's delicious for a gluten-free cookie. Then the newest thing this year is not a new cookie. It's called the ‘Toast-yay’. It's like a French toast-inspired cookie, and this will be the last year those will be available.”

Rickman said Girl Scout cookie sales are an integral part of helping young women learn entrepreneurial skills.

“Through our cookie program, girls are learning five essential skills that will carry on with them through into adulthood,” she said. “They're learning about goal setting. They're making decisions. They're learning about money management, and people skills because they're having to talk with people they've never spoken with before, and they're also learning about business ethics, so those five skills are what they're gaining through this program.”

Rickman Emphasized the Importance of the 'Girls Only' Girl Scout Experience

Rickman also emphasized the importance of Girl Scouts being exclusively for girls.

“There's just something to be said about getting girls together,” she said “I think they really flourish in their confidence. They can be silly together. They can try new things together. They're not afraid to take risks, whereas, if they're in a co-ed situation, for some girls that might be harder for them to do. So, with Girl Scouts, there's a lot of benefit to having an all-girl environment, and we just really hone in on that.”
