Man Crashes Car After Burglarizing a Missoula Dispensary
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 6, 2025, at approximately 2:23 a.m., Missoula Police Department officers responded to the Scott Street bridge after receiving a report of a vehicle crash. An officer arrived and observed a red Subaru Legacy with significant damage blocking the southbound lane. It appeared that the vehicle collided with the pedestrian railing on the west side of the bridge. Officers made contact with the involved driver, 21-year-old Dylan Tucker.
Tucker explained that he crashed because he looked down at a text message on his phone. Tucker said that he was driving from his residence to a gas station. The officer noted in his report that Tucker’s residence was not close to the crash scene, and Tucker would have already passed several gas stations much closer to home.
Another officer noted that Tucker was wearing a stocking cap and appeared to have a face covering around his neck. He also smelled alcohol coming from Tucker and observed that his eyes were watery. Tucker’s speech was slurred and he seemed to have poor balance. Tucker agreed to participate in field sobriety testing but explained that he struggles with hand-eye coordination.
An officer conducted the tests and observed 12 out of 18 indicators of impairment. Tucker then provided a PBT sample showing .146 BAC. Then the officer arrested Tucker. Pursuant to Implied Consent, Tucker agreed to provide a blood sample at St. Patrick's Hospital. While at the Hospital, Tucker admitted he was driving his vehicle at approximately 40-45 MPH. The speed limit on the Scott Street bridge is 25 MPH. After the blood draw, the officer transported Tucker to jail.
Meanwhile, other officers investigated the crash scene. They noticed a significant number of marijuana products inside and outside of Tucker’s vehicle. At least one item bore the business name of a local dispensary. An officer also located a handgun (a CZ P-10) on the floor of Tucker’s vehicle. During Tucker’s arrest, officers discovered eleven hollow-point rounds and a face mask on his person. They also found broken glass in one of Tucker’s pockets. Tucker said the glass came from the window of his vehicle, but none of his windows were shattered.

Officers responded to the dispensary to see if it had been burglarized. Upon arrival, they observed the glass front door of the business had been shattered. They also noticed that a second door into the dispensary had been forced open and also had broken glass.
One officer wrote in his report that the magazine of Tucker’s handgun had damage to the base plate consistent with being used to assist in the forced entry—specifically, that it had glass dust smashed into it.
Then the officers entered the dispensary and found marijuana products on the floor and an open display case. They observed products inside the dispensary that matched those found in Tucker’s possession. An employee for the dispensary later arrived on scene to survey the damage and provide loss estimates.
Tucker is currently being charged with felony burglary, DUI first offense, and careless driving.
