Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 14, 2026, at approximately 1:37 a.m., Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to the Poverello Center (POV) for reports that 29-year-old Russell Wilson had broken a window and fled. An officer arrived and spoke with an employee. She said she was shoveling snow when Wilson came up to her, asking if the POV was using the Harsh Weather Policy. She told Wilson no, and he yelled at her angrily.  

Then Wilson went onto the POV property on the south side of the building. After the employee lost sight of Wilson, she heard a crash as if glass had broken. Wilson was then seen heading west.  

Then the officer spoke to the POV’s manager. He said he heard yelling outside and left his office to investigate in time to see Wilson run around the building to the south side. The manager showed the officer a window with two holes and broken glass lying on top of the rocks where the window was damaged. He estimated the costs to repair the window would be $800.

Previous Trespass: Russell Wilson's Troubling History

Wilson was trespassed from the POV for thirty days because he assaulted another patron at the POV on March 12, 2026. Officers located Wilson on Toole Avenue, and he was subsequently arrested. When Wilson was escorted to the patrol vehicle, he made a statement of accomplishing his goal of going somewhere warm for the night with meals provided. An officer noted Wilson seemed happy with the consequences of Wilson’s crime. Wilson was released from jail that same day.  

On March 14, 2026, at approximately 3:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to Downtown Pawn for a report that an individual had broken a window at that store. The caller had the male in the alley next to the pawn shop. Officers arrived on scene and observed Wilson. One of Wilson’s hands was bleeding.  

An officer spoke to a Downtown Pawn employee who said he did not see the moment the window was broken, but noticed it just after contact was made with the window. The employee exited the store to take photographs when he saw Wilson take off running. The employee gave chase before catching up to the Wilson in the alley behind Stockman Bank. He pinned Wilson until law enforcement arrived.

CCTV Evidence: Video Sheds Light on Criminal Behavior

Officers reviewed video surveillance from the store, which shows Wilson walking directly up to the window. Wilson pulls back his arm with a closed fist and then forcefully punches the window, shattering the glass. Wilson then continues walking westbound making no attempt to contact employees. According to the store owner, the cost to repair the window would be $1,200. 

Wilson was arrested again and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility again. He is currently being charged with felony criminal mischief by common scheme and criminal trespass to property. According to the jail roster, Wilson was released at 4:18 PM on March 16, 2026.
