Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 20, 2024, Missoula Police Department Officers responded to the Johnson Street Warming Shelter for a report of an assault with a weapon. Officers spoke to a male, John Doe, who said a female approached him and pulled a knife out while he was sitting in a truck with another male. The female was later identified as 33-year-old Linda Bigbeaver.

As Bigbeaver approached, Doe attempted to lock the passenger door but Bigbeaver was able to open it. Doe reported Bigbeaver held the knife with the blade pointed towards him. Doe attempted to exit the truck but Bigbeaver did not let him out and said something to the effect of, no you sit your f*****g a** back.

Doe reported that he was scared and wasn’t sure if Bigbeaver was going to stab him or kill him. Doe stated after threatening him with the knife, Bigbeaver punctured the front passenger tire and then left the area. Doe said the knife was approximately six inches in length.

Doe said Bigbeaver attempted to slap the other male and stated that she wanted to fight. Doe informed Bigbeaver that he did not want any problems, to which Bigbeaver replied, “I’ll stab him in his face.”

Officers spoke with the other male who stated he was familiar with Bigbeaver and when she approached, he believed Doe would be stabbed. He further stated that Bigbeaver attempted to get him as well, but she stabbed his door once, slashed his tire, and then left.

During this same time, an officer located a female walking eastbound on North Ave. W. that matched the description of Bigbeaver. Bigbeaver was detained and placed in handcuffs. When asked if she had any weapons, Bigbeaver stated that she had one in her right pants pocket.

The officer retrieved a knife from Bigbeaver’s pocket and noted it was approximately five inches long. Bigbeaver was mirandized and did not wish to speak to officers. She was then arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.

Bigbeaver is currently being charged with felony assault with a weapon, criminal mischief, and unlawful restraint.
