Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 10:09 p.m. on September 21, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer observed several individuals loitering near the “Secret Seconds” business on W. Broadway. The officer was aware that the store has numerous signs stating “No Loitering” and that store management had requested that officers enforce trespassing violations on the property.

One of the individuals present was 30-year-old Jori Hurckes, who was currently on probation. A Probation Officer requested a probation search of Hurckes. Hurckes admitted to the officer that she had methamphetamine and paraphernalia in her bag.

The officer searched the bag and observed a glass pipe with a bulbous end and a cut blue straw containing a white residue, which the officer recognized from his training and experience as likely methamphetamine paraphernalia.

The officer also located a black wallet inside Hurckes’ purse, which contained two folded paper pouches containing suspected methamphetamine. Hurckes verbally confirmed that she had recently purchased the pouches for $20 each. The crystalline substance was later NIK tested and showed positive for methamphetamine.

Hurckes was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. She is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $5,000.

The Officer Investigates Another Individual

Another individual who was present was 32-year-old Dalton Whitford, who stated he was currently on probation. A Probation Officer requested a probation search of Whitford. As Whitford stood up, the officer observed an uncapped, loaded syringe containing a reddish-brown liquid where Whitford had been sitting.

Based on training and experience, the officer believed this object was a methamphetamine syringe. The officer searched Whitford and located an orange cap in Whitford’s pocket, which matched the syringe that was found. The substance in the syringe was later NIK tested and showed positive for methamphetamine.
