Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 16 new criminal complaints this week, which is three less than last week and right around the weekly average. According to Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, five of the cases this week involved violence or crimes against persons.

“There was one strangulation and one partner or family member assault third or subsequent offense,” Pabst said. “There was a violation of an order or protection and a burglary. There was also an assault of a person outside the courthouse. We charged one case of indecent exposure that allegedly occurred on a bus.”

In the endangerment category, Pabst said they charged two new cases and one was a felony DUI.

“The allegation is the defendant allegedly crashed his F250 truck and the second was a criminal endangerment,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant allegedly fired several rounds near his spouse and neighbors endangering them unnecessarily and unlawfully.”

In the property crimes category, Pabst said there were four new cases.

“There was an exploitation of an older person, theft of a motor vehicle, and another theft case that involved taking items out of people’s bags at the hockey rink, allegedly,” Pabst said. “Finally, there was a forgery case in which the defendant allegedly impersonated another and then attempted to get money at several different banks under false identification.”

Pabst said her office also charged two new drug cases. Both cases involved meth and one also involved fentanyl. In addition, Pabst said they charged three fugitives from justice.
