On June 19, 2023, Polaris lead guitarist Ryan Siew died at the age of 26. Rather than let their profound loss prevent them from carrying on, however, the Australian metalcore group vowed to “move forward” in order to “fulfill all [their] upcoming commitments” and celebrate Siew’s life.

That got us thinking about other bands who’ve suffered massive misfortunes yet refused to give up hope and throw in the towel. On the contrary, they showed great strength, determination and optimism by continuing to do what they do best in one way or another.
