It was at this time nearly one year ago that the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling that allowed for legal abortion in the United States. Since the ruling was overturned, states across the country have passed legislation to restrict access to abortion, and according to the Guttmacher Institute, 13 states have some of the most restrictive policies. Their data also indicate that Montana has both some restrictions and some protections.

Advocates for reproductive rights may be interested in a fundraiser coming up June 10 to benefit Blue Mountain Clinic and All Families Healthcare, two independent clinics that provide abortion care. Also at the event will be reps from the Susan Wicklund Fund, Open Aid Alliance, and the Gay Health Task Force. Each of these organizations helps to provide health care in progressive ways.

Susan Wicklund Fund: "Montana's statewide abortion fund"

Open Aide Alliance"serves the health needs of Montana in radical ways. [They] offer testing, syringe exchange, housing and more."

Gay Health Task Force: "Provide comprehensive health messages and interventions aimed at improving the overall health of LGBTQ+ and the Native Two Spirit communities in Montana."

The event "Right 2 Choose" is presented by Pro-Choice Montana and is hosted by Free Cycles. There will be a silent auction and a raffle and music by Queenager, "the pop duo of the millennium" and Cosmic Sans a "Western-psych five-piece."

Door will open at 6:30 pm with the music from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The silent auction will only run from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and winners are asked to pick up their items between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
