Kirk Hammett’s ‘It’s Alive!’ Horror + Sci-Fi Exhibit Coming to Peabody Essex Museum
Metallica's Kirk Hammett has shown himself to be a massive fan of horror and sci-fi over the years, publishing the Too Much Horror Business book, displaying his massive horror and sci-fi memorabilia collection at Metallica's Orion Music + More festivals and launching the Fear FestEvil music and horror event. Now Hammett is taking pieces of his collection to the legendary Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass. for a new exhibit entitled It's Alive!
The museum, which dates back to 1799, will house Hammett's exhibit between Aug. 12 and Nov. 26 this year. This marks the first major exhibition of Hammett's world renowned collection, which includes 75 posters, six guitars and 10 related images.
Those attending the exhibit can check out themed sections dedicated to the undead (Dracula, the Mummy, Frankenstein), women and power, horror spoofs, the eyes, mad science, zombies, the collector, classic tales and other realms such as aliens and the deep.
