Looks like we’ll be moshing to new Lamb of God music next year. According to drummer Chris Adler, Lamb of God are hoping to have a new album out by Christmas 2019.

It’s been over three years since Lamb of God graced the metal legions with a new record, not counting their Legion: XX covers album as Burn the Priest. Following a successful stint with Megadeth and taking a leave of absence from Lamb of God’s dates on Slayer’s farewell tour, Adler is ready to get back into LoG mode.

“There is like the creative rush. The last thing we did has been a bit – it's been a while ago,” Adler told the Metal Injection Livecast. “There's nothing more that we'd love – the road is a pain in the ass – but the creative process is really the best part of this whole thing. And it's really been a long time since we've been able to do that.”

"There is an overflow,” the drummer says about Lamb of God’s writing. “Willie brings in this file that is over four hours long of riff after riff after riff. It's not even separated, like this is a song or whatever. And Josh is like 'What the fuck? We're going to sit here for four and a half hours and listen to this thing?' It's crazy. So, the bucket is overfilled."

As for Lamb of God’s ninth studio album, Adler says, “I think it's probably more likely that it's going to get recorded in the fall of '19, and hopefully out for Christmas presents for all your kids."

Lamb of God will finish out 2018 will a run of European dates on Slayer’s farewell tour. Fans can expect the Pure American Metal band to continue opening for Slayer into 2019.
