Lays Recalls Chips That Were Distributed in Montana

It's a bit scary. You just don't always know what's in the food we buy. We think we know because of what the labels claim is supposed to be inside the packaging. But if you really think about it - we're just taking their word for what we're about to consume. It always freaks me out a bit whenever I see stories about products being recalled because they found pieces of plastic or other foreign objects in with the food.

Something like this would be really scary, especially if you had a severe allergy. I can't imagine thinking I'm eating something that should be safe only to find out there was a mistake in packaging and it could have serious effects or even possible death. Some Lay's Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips have been voluntarily recalled because of ingredients that could create a risk for certain individuals.

Bags that were supposed to be barbecue flavored were actually filled with another flavor of potato chips that contain milk products as an ingredient. Since the chips are in the incorrect bag there is no warning of being a product that contains milk. That could create allergic reactions for anyone with a sensitivity or allergy to milk.

The recalled bags include 1 oz through 15 1/2 oz of Lay's Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips. Recalled bags might also be found in Frito-Lay Variety Packs.

Montana is one of the states where the chips were distributed. Other states include:

• California
• Hawaii
• Idaho
• New Mexico
• Nevada
• Oregon
• Utah
• Washington
• Wyoming
