Lolo Peak Brewery Has Free Christmas Trees for Those in Need
Tis the season to bring the outside inside. The tradition of the "Christmas Tree" continues in homes all over western Montana.
According to Wikipedia
Modern Christmas trees originated during the Renaissance in early modern Germany. Its 16th-century origins are sometimes associated with Protestant Christian reformer Martin Luther, who is said to have first added lighted candles to an evergreen tree.[15][16][17]
The earliest known firmly dated representation of a Christmas tree is on the keystone sculpture of a private home in Turckheim, Alsace (then part of Germany, today France), with the date 1576.
Regardless of the origin of the tradition, it is still fun to have a tree inside your home for a few weeks. Thankfully we are blessed to have a large selection of wild trees in our own backyard. This year, you can get a tree cutting permit from the US Forest Service, for FREE! Or you can purchase one from the vendors you see popping up in parking lots all over the five valleys. But, if you cannot fetch your own wild tree, or afford to buy one. The folks at Lolo Peak Brewery are offering FREE trees to those in need of one.
What would be better than enjoying a beer while casually perusing the selection of fresh cut trees? As of 11am this morning (12/3) the brewery says they still have between 15-20 trees available. 100% FREE! But, only while supplies last. So stop in for lunch or plan on an after work beer, and pick up your tree from Lolo Peak Brewery.
