Looking for a Fun Summer Job? Work at Glacier National Park
Like every other business in Montana, even iconic Glacier National Park is looking for summer employees.
KGVO News spoke to Glacier National Park Public Information Officer Gina Kerzman who provided more details about available jobs at the park.
“We have several job opportunities at Glacier National Park for this season,” began Kerzman. “L.C. Staffing out of Kalispell, Montana was awarded the contract for providing our drivers and dispatchers and supervisors for Glacier National Park’s transportation fleet. These are the shuttles that drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We need drivers who are willing to do that job for the summer, and you can contact L.C. Staffing on their website to get to get information about that.”
For those who are community-service minded, Kerzman said there are numerous volunteer opportunities at Glacier National Park, as well.
“If you want something that's a little more casual with not as much commitment, we are taking volunteers at Glacier National Park,” she said. “We're looking for folks who would be willing to make our visitors’ day and be the first contact for visitors who are looking for information about the vehicle reservation system. You can contact our volunteer program at 406-888-7034.”
Kerzman said the need for summer employees is urgent, so she provided contact information for those who are interested in working at the park.
“Right now we are having trouble getting all of our positions filled and we don't have enough workers,” she said. “So if anybody is interested in working for Glacier National Park, they can contact Emily Kiel our Administrative Officer at 406-888-7880.”
The Visitor Transportation Service operates a free hiker-biker shuttle that provides weekend service from May 7 until June 26, from 7 am to 3 pm, and runs between Apgar Visitor Center, Lake McDonald Lodge, and Avalanche Creek. When the Going-to-the-Sun Road opens for the season, park shuttles will provide service between the Apgar and St. Mary Visitor Centers from July 1 to Labor Day from 7 am to 7 pm, seven days per week. Park shuttles operate on a first come-first served basis.
