You don't visit the fair on Sunday every year without indulging in some fried food and grabbing your last ride bracelet, and of course catching the flat track bikes as they fly around the arena. It’s Lords of Dirt-return time again this year, and it’s still the loudest thing at the Western Montana Fair.

When and Where

And it all goes down on Sunday, August 10th. Gates open at 4 p.m.; racing begins at 5:30 p.m. This is the final major event of fair week, and the perfect way to wrap up the fair festivities.

What’s Happening

You’ll witness pros, hooligans, women’s heats, vintage bikes, you know, the works. They even throw a few freestyle motocross jumps between races, just to keep things rolling. PLUS, there's beer for sale right in the stands.

Tickets

If you buy before August 4th, tickets are cheaper... five bucks cheaper. After that:

  • General Admission: $35 for adults, $30 for seniors and military, $25 for youth
  • Covered Reserved: Adults $45 / Seniors-Military $40 / Children $35
  • Free for children under 3 on laps. Parking is $10 cash at the gate.

Why Go?

Because it is one of the last fair events anywhere where the crowd is as wild as the riders. It’s flat track racing right in the heart of Missoula, no road trip necessary.

If you’ve been dragging your feet on fair week, this is the best reason to hop to it and go out with a bang. Hit the rides, get a lemonade, sit your butt in the grandstands, and take in some of the fastest flat‑track racing you’ll ever see. The fair comes around only once a year; Lords of Dirt brings it to a close! This is the one you don’t want to miss.
