The recent snowstorm was generous to skiers and snowboarders at Lost Trail Powder Mountain.

The ski report at the south end of the Bitterroot Valley at Lost Trail Pass received 14 inches of snow Tuesday. Then, overnight another eight inches fell for a total 22 inches of powder snow on top of the existing base.

The ski area is running daily through January 1st, then will return to its normal Thursday through Sunday schedule. Chairs 1,2 and 4 were running Wednesday, December 28.

Though the ski runs were a little late opening this year, the conditions have vastly improved over the last week.

Also improved are the cross-country trails at Chief Joseph Pass. The weekly grooming is being done by the Bitterroot Cross Country Ski Club in conjunction with Lost Trail Powder Mountain.
