Welcome to Episode 14 of the Loudwire Podcast! This time, we’ve got Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen and multi-instrumentalist Mike Zarin from the new group Gone is Gone.

Gone is Gone just released their debut full-length, Echolocation, an extremely cinematic record meant to act as the soundtrack for each listener’s personal story. The trio of musicians told us all about what they wanted to accomplish with Echolocation along with the deep appreciation they have for those who have given the album a chance.

Gone is Gone spoke about the ultimate complement that fans can offer — describing how Mastodon, QOTSA or even Gone is Gone’s music has positively affected their lives. Podcast hosts Graham Hartmann and Joe DiVita both offered up their experiences with the trio’s various musical outlets, getting deeply personal in the process.

In this podcast’s edition of Rocker vs. Writer, we discussed the weirdest bands to ever exist and the quintessential weird bands in rock and metal. Troy Sanders even offered some breaking news, revealing a project from himself and Mastodon bandmate Brent Hinds called Turd Factory that would be releasing its debut album in late 2017.
