Man Fakes Death Right Before Proposing to Girlfriend
Before popping the question to his girlfriend, Russian man Alexey Bykov wanted to give her a quick taste of what her life would be like without him. So the 30-year-old businessman hired a stuntman, a make-up artist, actors and even a screenwriter to help him fake his own death.
When Irina Kolokov arrived to meet Bykov at a predetermined spot, the assembled cast and crew had made it look like Bykov had just died in a bloody car crash. Needless to say Kolokov was quite distraught.
Bykov didn’t let her suffer for that long, and after determining she had got the message he emerged from an ambulance with an engagement ring.
Kolokov was understandably outraged by the cruel ruse, running away as he pursued her, fake blood still all over his body. However she eventually did calm down and ultimately accepted his hand.
“I wanted her to realize how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me”, Bykov explained. “I think it worked – but I promise it’s the last time.”
