Map Shows How Many European Countries Fit Within Montana
We all know that Montana is a wide-open place. It is big country under a big sky. A state so large you can drive 8 hours and not leave the borders. Where we judge distance to another town by the time it takes to get there, instead of miles.
Now imagine driving from Billings to Missoula. Just set the cruise control at 80 miles per hour and you should arrive in just over 4.5 hours. Now imagine having to cross the border of 9 different European countries in the same distance.

The Facebook page called Explore Montana and Wyoming recently shared a map that shows just how massive the state of Montana really is. Showing that BIG SKY country could touch 8 different European countries.
Some of the comments on the post are great.

Can't believe a country the size of mt thought they could win WWI AND WWII

Being from the South, I always say "you can fit MS, AL and GA in MT".
Montana is full!
Being born and raised in Montana, it is something we take for granted. Just how much room we have to roam and play. European countries don't have much to work with. Especially countries with higher populations and small spaces.
But, if you think Montana is big. You could fit Montana and California INSIDE Alaska. Alaska is almost the size of the western half of Europe. Covering nearly 11 European countries. Thats a BIG state compared to the countries of Europe.
