We're all anxiously awaiting Tool's next album, but no one may be more so than Maynard James Keenan who had a little fun with the crowd and his bandmates during Tool's performance at Northern Invasion.

In fan-shot video above, Keenan delivers a message that comes off more like a beat poem with guitar riffage in between his comments. Speaking of why he dresses in riot gear onstage, Keenan offered, "I'm afraid of bananas and other forms of fruit because eventually you wonderful people are going to run out of fucking patience. So I beg you Danny, Adam, and Justin, please finish your parts so I can finish mine."

Tool's last album, 10,000 Days, arrived in 2006 and while the band has played shows fairly regularly in recent years, a new album has yet to arrive. But things started to turn a bit last fall when drummer Danny Carey suggested a 2018 release was the plan. The band's members have been in the studio, with Carey himself confirmed to have recently completed all the drum tracking for the album. Tool officially entered the studio back in March and it is known that they've been working with producer Joe Barresi during their studio time.

Meanwhile, Tool have also booked a few dates as well as music clinics for fans for this month. Get details on what lies ahead here.
