Here in the west, we are no strangers to wild predators. As the population of humans continues to grow, we are slowly encroaching on wild habitats. Take mountain lions for example. We hear stories every year of joggers or hikers having a confrontation with mountain lions (or cougars.) Who knew that blasting some of your favorite metal music, could actually repel critters?

Exhibit A: A woman from British Columbia was walking her dog, when she discovered a mountain lion stalking her. She yelled for the big cat to go away, but it didn't seem to do any good. She even recorded part of the standoff.

After she finished recording the short piece of evidence, she thumbed over to her iTunes account, and the first song to pop up was Metallica's "Don't Tread On Me." As soon as she started blasting the metal masterpiece from 1991, the kitty cat disappeared.

In conclusion: Metallica is Mountain Lion Repellent.
