Missoula Downtown Church Closing After 129 Years
One of the oldest churches in Missoula is closing for good.
River Valley Church, which has gone through a few different names and has stood in Missoula since 1890, has sold the building at just over $1 million. The plan is to seek a new location, as their relatively small congregation is finding it harder and harder to make it downtown for church services.
The good news is, the building will still stand and remain - it's one of the oldest buildings downtown and holds a lot of Missoula history. It's not yet known who bought the building, but River Valley will be allowed to use at least part of it for the next six months while they look for a new location.
Were you a parishioner at River Valley Church? Will you be following them to wherever their new location might be?
