Missoulians: Learn How To Be A Beekeeper!
People have been taking on a lot of new hobbies since the pandemic began. Since March, how many photos of completed puzzles have you seen floating around your social media? I'm guessing it's a lot more than it used to be.
Some people have started painting, others have been exercising, others have been watching every Jeff Goldblum movie in chronological order (that last one might be me) - we all need something to keep the boredom away while we can't really go anywhere.
So why not take up beekeeping? That's one of those things that you sometimes hear people talking about and wanting to do it, but you're not really quite sure how to start it. Thankfully, the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project is offering a virtual Intro to Beekeeping Workshop that'll cover all the basics you need to know, including setup, costs, ethics, and where to purchase your supplies.
Interested? The workshop will take place online on Thursday, February 11th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, and you can find all the info you need at their Facebook event page. Tickets are $10 if you're a member of the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project, and $20 for non-members.
What other hobbies have people been getting into over the last year? I'm thinking knitting is a big one. I know animal adoptions have gone way up since COVID, so probably walking dogs or taking them out to the park. Got any suggestions? Let us know what hobby you've taken up since the pandemic hit by messaging us through the ZOO FM app.
