A new Griz hype song was dropped today courtesy of Montana-born Jim Kinsey, and it is already ruffling some feathers. So the man fired up Suno, the AI music tool, and cranked out a cutting-edge, heavy-leaning metal track for use in Grizzly Football games. Sure, half the internet is probably already typing out their commentary about “AI slop” and “robots killing creativity,” but wait a sec. Give it a listen first. Because, in my opinion, this one actually slaps.

A Metal Track Fit for Washington-Grizzly

Kinsey’s latest sounds like something you’d play on a tailgate speaker two hours before kick off. The guitars feel big. The energy feels rowdy, almost like something I would crank before doing multiple keg stands.

AI or not, it works. And on a week like this one, with South Dakota rolling into Missoula on Saturday, Griz fans will take all the hype they can get.

The A.I. Debate Is Coming, So Let’s Stop It Before It Starts

You can hear the A.I. fingerprints all over it. A little too clean in spots. A little too polished. But guess what. They’re not all a train wreck, these A.I. songs that are being pumped out in droves every day. Some of them slap. This one included.

Is there any musician who hates this? Absolutely. Are there fans who consider deploying AI tools to be equivalent to nuking a steak? Also yes. But here is the truth. Apps like Suno, which enable regular people to make their own something bright, fun, and loud enough to light up a tailgate. And if the song has the stadium buzzing before a game in the quarterfinals, maybe that is all part of its glory.

Is AI Aiding Montana Creativity Or Killing It

I am not here to tell you what side to take. I want the argument. I want the rage clicks. I need the ones shouting that AI has destroyed music. I want the folks screaming that it’s the future and get with it. I want all of it.
