Renowned Montana Singer Doing Free Show at a Gorgeous State Park

Western music with its roots decidedly in Montana, anyone?

If you're looking to put a short road trip on your weekend agenda and enjoy the music of an iconic Montana country/folk/bluegrass/add-your-own-genre-here performer, we recommend a delightful journey to a beautiful state park for a summer afternoon of entertainment.

For decades, the name Rob Quist has been synonymous with the spirit of Montana, putting his own spin on blends of music deeply rooted in American tradition, as a solo artist and member of the famed Mission Mountain Wood Band. And he will be joined in concert by his daughter, Halliday Quist, at Giant Springs State Park, along the banks of the Missouri River in Great Falls, this Saturday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

No doubt many of you are familiar with Giant Springs. As a lifelong Montana guy, I'm a bit embarrassed to say I have only visited once. Once was hardly enough to experience all 14 miles of river shoreline the park encompasses, offering so many bike riding, hiking, fishing, bird watching, boating, picnicking and photography opportunities. But however often or how much of Giant Springs you've had the chance to explore, you know that scenery abounds in every direction. All of that coupled with an excellent visitor center to learn more about the uniqueness of Giant Springs.

Now, perhaps we played a little loose with the word "free" when we referred to Rob and Halliday Quist's show. Admission to the concert is one (ONE!) non-perishable food item per participant. All food items will be donated to the Great Falls Community Food Bank. We suspect that most music lovers will dig a little deeper than that.
