Montana Teens Get Free Uber Rides After Failing Driving Test
We’ve all been there—well, maybe not all of us, but enough to feel the pain. Your teen walks out of the DMV with that unmistakable “I failed” look. You’re torn between comforting them and wondering how you’ll survive six more months of chauffeuring.
But guess what? Uber is swooping in to save the day (and your sanity). They’re offering Montana teens who didn’t quite "make the cut" up to six free rides. Yep, you heard that right. Six glorious rides where you’re not stuck in the driver’s seat of your own personal parenting taxi service.
So, What’s the Deal?
Here’s how it works: If your teen recently failed their driving test, Uber’s stepping in to help.
- Who’s eligible? Teens who’ve failed their driving test in Montana. Yes, it’s a little awkward, but hey, free rides!
- How many rides? Up to six, within a 10-mile radius. That’s plenty to get them to school, work, or, let’s be honest, the mall.
- How do you sign up? Use the Uber app to register. They’ll confirm your teen’s DMV “oops” moment, and BAM, the rides are yours. (ONLY VALID on NEW Uber Teen accounts)
Look, nobody enjoys playing chauffeur, especially in Montana where distances can be, let’s say, substantial. These free rides mean your kid can still have some independence while you enjoy a well-deserved break. Bonus: They’ll have time to actually read the driving manual before their next attempt.
If your teen’s dream of freedom is delayed a bit, don’t worry. Sign them up, enjoy a little extra peace, and remind them that everyone’s first car story is better when it’s earned. (Even if they only earn it after flunking parallel parking twice.)
NOTE: True story: I flunked my driving test 3 times. Why? Because the only car available to me at the time was an old manual Ford Ranger. I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK! But, I tried anyway. 3 TIMES! Thankfully a family member offered a car with an automatic transmission for my 4th attempt.
