Montana Grizzlies Drop Five Spots After One Point Loss to Cal Poly – Mustangs Leap to Number 16
After Saturday's heartbreaking 42-41 loss to the Cal Poly Mustangs on Saturday, the Montana Grizzlies have dropped five places in the latest STATS FCS top 25 football poll.
The Grizzlies went into Saturday's contest ranked sixth in the nation, but after the one-point loss in San Luis Obispo, they have dropped out of the top 10 to number 11.
The Mustangs, who had been outside the top 25, took a good-sized leap up the poll all the way to number 16.
Defending five-time national champion North Dakota State remains in the number one spot, with the Big Sky's Easter Washington at number four. Montana, Eastern Washington and Cal Poly are the only Big Sky teams in the top 25 this week.
Up next for the Grizzlies, it's homecoming weekend, as Montana entertains the 2015 Big Sky Champion Southern Utah Thunderbirds at 2:30 p.m.
