If you're a soccer fan and anxious to get outside for some early-spring fresh air and a live sporting event, we say, Go Griz!

The undefeated University of Montana Grizzly soccer team will be hosting Portland State for two Big Sky Conference matches, tonight (Friday) at 7:00 p.m. and again Sunday at noon. The matches are being held at Missoula County Stadium adjacent to Big Sky High School.

The Grizzlies are 3-0-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in Big Sky Conference play. Portland State comes in at 0-4-0. Montana will play at Sacramento State next week, host Eastern Washington on April 9 and 11, then play in the Big Sky Conference tournament in Ogden, Utah, in mid-April should the Grizzlies qualify.

The Grizzlies currently sit atop the Northwest Division of the Big Sky standings. The top two teams from the Northwest Division at regular season’s end will advance to the postseason, as will the top two teams from the Southeast Division. After opening their spring schedule with a 3-0 home win over MSU Billings, the Grizzlies kicked off league at Idaho and remained unbeaten and untied with a pair of 1-0 victories.

If you'd like to cheer on this excellent team, there are still plenty of COVID-19 restrictions in place. Seats are reserved and seat locations will be shown in the shopping cart. All seats are sold in PODS. You must purchase all seats in a socially distanced pod of 2, 3 or 4 seats. Tickets are just $8 or $10 dollars. You can find out about ticket availability for this weekend and on the GrizTix UM Soccer page here.

Fans can park in the Big Sky High School parking lot.
