Only in Montana: Tractor Relocates Illegally Parked Car
My family has a way of breaking trucks. Every year we spend the late part of Montana's hunting season getting stuck in waist-high snow. Getting "unstuck" can be an all-day thing. It can also be hard on trucks.
My brother managed to break the axle of his truck while hunting last fall. I wasn't surprised, as he is known for breaking trucks, just like the rest of the family. So my nephew thought it would be fun to simply get out of the truck and film his reaction to being stranded in the mountains. He walked around the broken truck and simply said "HEY MAN! YOU CAN'T PARK HERE!"
The town of West Yellowstone isn't messing around when it comes to parking violations.
Shortly after receiving a fresh blanket of snow, West Yellowstone residents got to work clearing parking lots and roads. While clearing the roads, crews came across an SUV with two flat tires. They were not going to waste time waiting for a tow truck. Using heavy machinery, they simply picked up the SUV and relocated it.
Jenny Poelman shared a video of the "relocation" on social media.
So far this season West Yellowstone has seen a decent amount of snow. But they have a long way to go to reach the peak snowpack.
According to snoflo.org
West Yellowstone, MT is located in the Gallatin Range of the Rocky Mountains, with elevations ranging from 6,600 to 11,200 feet. On average, the area receives 150 inches of snowfall annually, with an average peak snowpack of 87 inches in April. The nearby ski resorts of Big Sky, Moonlight Basin, and Bridger Bowl benefit from this snowpack, with an average of 400 inches of snowfall annually.
Now you can see why the city workers can't waste time with tow trucks. With that kind of snowfall expected, it is a never-ending job clearing snow in West Yellowstone.
