If you live in Montana, the odds are that you either have a Ford F-150 in your name or know someone who treats theirs better than they do a close family member. It’s the unofficial state truck. Perfect for chasing elk or hauling hay.

Montana’s top-selling truck, the F-150, has just been hammered with not one, but two recalls. And not for anything awesome, like exploding motors or ejector seats. Nope. These recalls are peak dumb.

First off, we’ve got a recall on the 2025 models due to…wait for it…the missing airbag warning sticker. That’s it. Ford made more than 300 trucks without the little sun-faded rectangle that says, don’t let your toddler ride shotgun. Instead of simply sending the sticker in the mail, it will now be a full-on recall. The kind that gets headlines. And side-eyes at the gas pump.

Second, there’s a software glitch for 2021 models in which your truck will shift into neutral or first gear while driving. You could be driving down I-90 and boom, you’re rear end locks up. Not fun. Ford attempted to address it once in 2022, but apparently, the fix didn’t work for everyone. So here we go again.

We love our trucks, but come on. First, tailgate cameras, then the tailgate, now the truck doesn’t know how to stay in gear.

If you own an F-150, contact your dealer. Or be patient for the next recall. At this pace, next time they will probably forget the wheels, or maybe it is just low on "blinker fluid."
