Moose May Be Our First Line of Defense Against Robot Uprising
Everyday we see something in our lives that was long ago considered science fiction. Whether it be the lightning fast computers we carry in our pockets everyday, or the development of technology that will one day put a colony of humans on Mars. But, some science fiction is not always about a positive outcome for humans in the future. Take the hit movie series surrounding "The Terminator." A future where artificial intelligence and robots will enslave the human race.
Right now, robotics engineers are actually developing artificial technology in robots. Technology that can essentially let machines think for themselves. Stephen Hawking said, “The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race,” and Elon Musk concurred — calling it humanity’s “biggest existential threat”.
According to Medium.com, humans have already developed robots that can kill.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin described the “Robot platform F.E.D.O.R. showing shooting skills with two hands,” and quickly added, “we are not creating a Terminator, but artificial intelligence that will be of great practical significance in various fields.”
Ostensibly, F.E.D.O.R. has been developed for rescue missions, and the prototype was even sent to the International Space Station to conduct repairs, but as The Independent has written, “military uses have also been suggested by engineers.”
Meanwhile, AI robots are already available for home use. In fact many households have robotic vacuum cleaners. Robots that will cover every inch of your carpet picking up every bit of dirt it can target. Recently, the same technology that the vacuum robots use, now are being incorporated with your lawn. But, the herbivores are not going to let robots take away their food. They will not go down without a fight. Watch as moose combat robotic lawnmowers.
