New Hotel Set To Open In Downtown Missoula Next Year
I know that travel is the last thing on most people's mind right now, including my own - which has been rough because pretty much my entire family is back in New York and I haven't been able to see them in almost a year. I'm hoping to be able to fly back for Christmas, but with rising COVID cases in Montana, it's a little unclear if I'll actually be able to. (New York has Montana named as one of the states on its "Quarantine" list - if you fly in from Montana, you're supposed to quarantine yourself for two weeks.)
But one day, we're gonna get through this thing, and people will be able to travel and gather in groups and just generally have fun again. And when they do come through Missoula, they'll have a new option for a place to stay.
A new hotel is opening in downtown Missoula next year - it's called The Wren, and it's actually replacing what used to be a Days Inn across the street from Conflux Brewing Company. This is being developed by Think Tank Architects, who also made the Lark in downtown Bozeman and the Finch in Walla Walla, Washington.
A couple of cool details about the new hotel - every room will feature artwork from local artists, and the lobby will include Black Coffee Roasting Company, too. They're also adding on a fourth floor. We won't see this until around summer 2021, but hopefully by then people are ready to get out of their houses and do some exploring.
