Now living near Whitefish, she has used TikTok as a platform to offer her followers a brutally honest view of what it’s really like to live in Montana. Through the laughter in her video, Curry sympathizes with us: sometimes she loses cell service for an hour, drives 90 minutes to get to the nearest Costco, and carries a saw in her car “because when that tree falls over on the road.” The power blinks off a few times each month, snow can pin her at home for weeks, and when she calls the plumber, six months is typical.

She’s discovered that winter here doesn’t care who you were on TV. Pipes freeze, snow piles higher than your car, and “neighborly help” usually means your neighbor waves as he plows his own driveway before getting to yours. She even jokes about how it’s so cold she can go outside in shorts when it’s 30 degrees. The real way to know you’re a local.
