We're pretty excited about this! When we put our heads together with the team at The Sweat Shop last year to raise money for teenagers aging out of foster care, we most certainly weren't expecting an award for it.

The E.B. Craney Montana Broadcaster's Awards were held over the weekend and our radio stations won a few things. Now typically, we all get dressed up and attend this fancy ceremony at Big Sky Resort with an expensive dinner, cloth napkins and an open bar. Radio DJs plus an open bar before we have to deliver acceptance speeches on stage, great idea, right? Also, by 'dressed up,' I mean we take a bath wear a clean t-shirt.

Since we're in, what I refer to as, COVID Times, this year's ceremony was virtual, on YouTube. But our team still gathered for some great food and celebrating to watch on the big screen.

Congratulations are in order for for KPAX, KECI, Brian & Chris at Z100, and from our own team: Spinathon for Public Service on Alt 101.5; runner up, KYSSmas for Kids on KYSS-FM; Easter Keg Hunt 2019 was runner up for Promotion of the Year for 96.3 The Blaze; and Peter Christian for Newstalk, KGVO. Peter has won so many Craneys (as we call them for short) that they fill several rooms of his home and rooms at the office. The rest of us have won a few, but we are so honored to share this Public Service award with the women at The Sweat Shop. They are truly such a thoughtful, compassionate, generous and creative group, we have a blast with them and to be able to do that and give back to the community at the same time is certainly a blessing. And cheers to YOU for supporting local radio!

If you want to spin with us this year, we are raising funds for emergency shelter for local children. All you need is $100 in donations and one hour to ride with us in August. Email me and I'll get you on a team angel@alternativemissoula.com
