Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Lake County

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Sunday, March 1 on U.S. Highway 93 near Pablo.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell provided details of the incident.

"The man that was struck by a vehicle and killed on US Highway 93 has been identified as 26 year-old Michael J Gardipe Jr. of Pablo,” said Sheriff Bell. “The accident happened on US Highway 93 at about 4:30 a.m. on March 1 south of Pablo. Gardipe was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.”

Bell said the driver contacted 9-1-1 immediately and remained at the scene.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
