Pop Evil Play for Kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis
Don't let the name fool ya! Pop Evil are among the good guys in rock. The band is currently on tour, but recently played a gig that you won't find on their tour schedule. The band accepted an invite and dropped by the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis to play as part of the Music Gives to St. Jude Kids program.
"Playing for the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was a career highlight," says Pop Evil frontman Leigh Kakaty. "Whenever you can help bring inspiration and positivity to children in need it makes it all worthwhile. Being able to bring smiles to both the kids and their families was humbling and something we hope we can do more of in the future."
Bassist Matt DiRito adds, "It has been such an honor to be able to work hand in hand with the staff and families at St Jude. Those kids have touched our lives in a way that is so incredibly powerful and different from anything we have experienced in our travels across the world."
You can see performance footage from the band's visit at the St. Jude website with the band performing acoustic versions of "Take It All" and "Footsteps." If you'd like to make a donation to St. Jude, you can do so here.
Pop Evil are currently wrapping up their "Rock 'n' Roll Now Tour: Right Now" trek with support from Badflower. It's the final tour leg in support of the band's UP album, after which they'll take some time off before starting to work on their next album. Get details on tickets to their remaining shows here.
