The Missoula At-Risk Housing Coalition will hold its 13th Annual Project Community Connect event on Friday at Zootown Church.

Reaching Home Coordinator Theresa Williams said the popular event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and that hundreds of people from all walks of life are expected to attend.

“It’s a one-stop event that builds connections, community and hope for people in need of services,” said Williams. “It’s one-stop shopping to get medical, dental, eye care, housing services, veterans services, clothing, warm winter clothing, haircuts, pet food, you name it, it’s all under one roof.”

The assistance will be provided with the direct help of more than 75 nonprofit service providers, local businesses, churches, government agencies and more than 100 community volunteers.

“We’re building hope,” she said. “We’re trying to help people resolve their housing crisis, trying to make it easy for them to access all of these services at one place, where it ordinarily can take months but doing it all in one convenient place.”

Williams said buses will be running to the event as well as a shuttle from the First United Methodist Church and the Poverello Center. Bus lines numbers 7 and 12 will be running to the event, as well.

Williams said she is expecting more than 350 people to take advantage of the free event on Friday at Zootown Church, located directly behind Paradise Falls Restaurant just off Brooks.
