A public memorial for Huntress frontwoman Jill Janus will be held this Friday (Aug. 24) at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, Calif. beginning at 9PM, her bandmates have revealed in a post to their official Facebook page. The event will be, "Open to all friends, fans and walks of life," according to a poster for the memorial, which can be viewed below.

"Since Jill's departure, the amount of outreach and support from friends, fans and family has been absolutely incredible," the statement begins. "It has been beyond heavy to see so many reminders of how she could be so talented and loved yet could feel so much pain and loneliness. Let's get together and celebrate her life and the importance that we still have each other. Expect a lot of whiskey and grown men crying."

Janus died by suicide a week ago (Aug. 14) outside of Portland, Ore. at the age of 42. Since her passing, there has been an outpouring of grief from the metal and hard rock community. The singer had been open about her battles with mental illness in hopes that she could help others dealing with similar issues.

Forming in 2009, Huntress released three full-length albums on Napalm Records, with their most recent, Static, coming in 2015. Earlier this summer we spoke with Janus who told us about Victory: The Rock Opera, her project with Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Angus Clark. She also revealed that Huntress had been in pre-production for a new album with plans to start tracking in late summer.
