Fan Favorite Race to the Sky Event Returns to Montana in 2022
In the last two years, many of our beloved annual events have had to be postponed or rescheduled thanks to COVID. And even though we got back to a relative normal last year - like seeing the return of live music, for example - there were still many events that just couldn't move forward the way they were originally planned.
That includes events like the Parade of Lights in Missoula (which did the Reverse Parade of Lights for the second year in a row), the Seattle Stairclimb (which is scheduled to happen this year with Missoula firefighters participating), and the Missoula Marathon (also back on the schedule this year!)
So hopefully, 2022 is able to see more of these events get back on the schedule - and now we can add another one to the list! The Race to the Sky, an annual tradition which dates back 30 years, is set to make its return in February.
But What Is Race to the Sky, You Ask?
Race to the Sky is an annual dog sledding race that kicks off in Lincoln, Montana. According to KPAX, racers come from all over the world to race on the beautiful Montana trails. The event takes place over five days, from February 11th through February 15th.
The race is recommending that people wear masks, and they will have hand sanitizer and masks available at different checkpoints for people. You can find out all the information you need about attending the race (or maybe even participating? Do you have your own dog sled team?) at their website.
